约翰.亚当斯作为美国革命期间重要的领导人和外交家之一,在美国争取独立的外交舞台上发挥了独特的作用,而其中争取荷兰贷款尤为引人注目。通过研究该事件不仅可以折射出革命期间亚当斯的外交思想和策略,而且还能较好地窥见波诡云谲的欧洲大国外交。本文试图在借鉴国内外学者研究成果并尽可能多地利用原始档案的基础上,拟就学术界争议较大的问题(亚当斯转向争取荷兰贷款的原因和最终赢得荷兰贷款的原因)为切入点,对该事件进行较为全面的剖析,进而对其历史地位作出较为客观的评价。

As an important leader and diplomat in the American Revolution,John Adams has played a very important role in the revolutionary diplomatic stage,where securing Dutch loans is especially prominent.It doesn＇t only reflect Adams＇s diplomatic thoughts and strategy,but also sees complex and delicate diplomacy of European powers in the American Revolution.This thesis explores it completely and evaluates it objectively on the basis of documents and from the viewpoint of controversial issues in academic circles.
