Introduction and Review on the Monograph of Citation Analysis in Research Evaluation

This paper introduces briefly the monograph,citation analysis in research evaluation, written by Henk F. Moed, a famous scientometrics scientist. This book discusses some important issues about citation analysis, and assessing basic science research and scientific journals, the ISI citation indexes, assessing social sciences and humanities, accuracy aspects, theoretical aspects, citation a- nalysis and peer review, macro studies, and new developments among are studied theoretically and empirically research among 27 chapters. Some results will provide us useful hints in research evaluation in future.
