"心"者,"精之所舍"、"无为而制窍者也"。"观"者,"谛视也";"谛"者,"审也"。既是"观",就非一般的肉眼所"看"、所"视",所谓"常事曰视,非常曰观"是也。"心观"不同于"目观",它是"内观"意义上的"视则不见,听则不闻"。"心观"有多个层次:一是郑板桥所说的"眼中之竹"、"胸中之竹"、"手中之竹"、"意象"营构及赋形的"变相"性;二是王夫之意义上的"意在言先,亦在言后";三是"影中取影"意义上的"遥想其然";四是"神境"难摹意义上的"大跨度""聚合思维"。"心观"思维构成科学与人文创造性思维的共同基础。
"Xin" is home to essence, which can control orifices through inaction. "Guan" means to watch carefully. "Di" means examiningly. However, "guan" does not only refer to "look" with eyes. "Shi" means sight of ordinary things and conception of non-ordinary things. "Xinguan" has several levels: the first is image construction as Zheng Baoqiao' s "bamboo in the eye", "bamboo in the heart" and "bamboo in the hand" ; the second is Wang Fuzhi' s interaction between image and meaning as poems in pictures and pictures in poems; the third is to add shading around an object to make it stand out meaningfully; the fourth is long-span spiritual convergent thinking. "Xinguan" thinking can be served as the mutual basis for scientific and humanistic creative thinking.
