Lexical Meaning and Syntax Interface in the Perspective of Generative Grammar

生成语法对词汇语义与句法界面的关注大致可以分为三个阶段。在标准理论阶段,词汇的选择性限制作用于句法;在管约论阶段,词汇语义以题元角色的形式决定句子的合法性;在最简方案阶段,选择性限制和题元角色不是合并和移位的条件,词汇语义对句法的制约被取消了。ERP实验的ELAN效应验证了标准理论和管约论句法信息优先的合理性,N400和P600的对比证明了词汇语义与句法的互动。

Generative grammar＇s concern of lexical meaning and syntax interface comprises of three stages.In standard theory,selection restriction has an impact on syntax.In GB theory,theta roles which embody lexical meaning determine the legality of clauses.In MP,lexical meaning is excluded from the process of syntactic generation as selection restriction and theta roles play no part in merging and movement.ELAN effect in ERP experiment justifies the priority of categorical information,also,N400 and P600 prove that lexical meaning and syntax interact with each other.
