According to the investigation and research on the fire-fighting and evacuation of some large-sale market in Xi＇an, the paper indicates the fireproof design problems in the commercial buildings of the large-sale markets, including the design of the fire loading, the layout of the fire occasions, Heat Release Rate（ HRR）, the application of the FDS fire-fighting software, and the Japanese evacuation experience formula, and compares and researches the results of the above-mentioned various methods, so as to study the fire-fighting and evacuation capacity of the commercial buildings of the large-sale markets.
