Shuowen Jiezi is a classic book on the philology in ancient China, which creates the theory of philology and the compiling style of dictionary, and preserves ancient Chinese character system, pronunciation and ancient concept. Duan Yucal＇s Annotation on Shuowen Jiezi is the recognized authoritative book on Shuowen Jiezi. By using textural examination, examples and details analysis, this paper tries to explore the creation of exegetical style and terms of Annotation on Shuowen Jiezi in interpreting Shuowen Jiezi , its examination and elucidation on the meaning of Shuowen Jiezi based on the broad research on many related ancient books.
