一直为研究界所忽视的辑录于南京的《意外集》,在丁玲文学创作中具有重要的承上启下的作用。其现实关注、人性言说的主题既是《莎菲女士的日记》灵魂剖析的继续和发展,又是《我在霞村的时候》、《在医院中》人性关怀和人性批判的情感和思想渊源。其创作主题价值主要体现在以下三个方面:对左联时期创作的转变,对早期创作的回归,对延安时期创作的影响。
