摘要本文首先简要介绍原型理论(prototype theory,简称PT)的内容、比较它和传统的充要条件范畴化模式(the model of necessary and sufficient conditions,以下简称NSC Model)在解释语言范畴化现象中的优劣,然后介绍它在解释语言学现象方面的应用、分析其面临的主要挑战及理论缺陷,最后在修正其不足的基础上提出新的原型理论。
