RMB 1.07 Trillion The list of China's top 500 private companies was recently released, with the top three places taken by information and communication company Huawei, iron and steel manufacturer Jiangsu Shagang Group, and appliance retail chain Suning. China's private economy has undergone impressive growth in recent decades, but still lags far behind the public sector. The ten biggest private companies made a combined total of around RMB 1.07 trillion in 2010, while the state-owned Sinopec, one of the nation's leading oil conglomerates, made over RMB 1.9 trillion.
