With an introduction of Shanghai ZF Architectural Design Co.,Ltd.and reflections on their practice in planning and architectural design of social housing districts,this paper suggests that social housing districts should take account of human and economic concerns and serve as an example of ecology and energy efficiency by adopting the format of compact,flexible single units.
