LiuJiye summarized the debate on Poetry in his paper named The popularization and purification of New Poetry,his exposition manifested three characteristics： the construction of historical narration theme of new poetry;the application of focalization and deepening research method;the emphasis of summarization of the historical materials and the attitude of analysis.The attention to the historical materials research in Liu Jiye＇s paper not only contributes to the common understanding of new poetry and its history,but reduce the legitimacy crisis of modern new poetry.
