摘要
噬菌体发现之初,便被前苏联和东欧医学界用来治疗细菌感染。但是,随着抗生素时代的到来,人们慢慢忽略了对噬菌体在抗感染领域的深入研究。近年来由于耐药菌的频频出现,抗生素在抗感染领域面临前所未有的挑战,许多实验室开始把目光投向噬菌体制剂。本文回顾了噬菌体机制用于抗感染治疗的历史,介绍了目前噬菌体制剂的主要种类——活体噬菌体制剂和噬菌体裂解酶制剂的生物学特性、在抗感染领域的优劣势、应用情况和研究进展。
When phages were originally identified, the possibility of using them as antibacterial agents against pathogens was immediately recognized and put into practise based on the knowledge available at the time. However, with the advent of antibiotics a decline in the use of phage as therapeutics followed. Phages did, however, become more useful in the study of fundamental aspects of molecular biology and in the diagnostic laboratory for the identification of pathogenic bacteria. More recently, the original application of phage as therapeutics to treat human and animal infections has been rekindled, particularly in an era where antibiotic resistance has become so problematic. This paper reviews the history of phages as bactericidal agents and describes the main types of preparations of bacteriophage,including the biological characteristics, therapeutic application and and research progress.
