Study on Network Role and Function Orientation of Inter-city Railway in Regions of Jiangsu Province along Yangtze River

规划建设江苏沿江城际铁路将促使沪宁通道形成"八线"格局,研究确定江苏沿江城际铁路在路网中的作用和功能定位对本项目立项尤为重要。沿江城际与通道内其他线路分工明确,路网功能突出。与沪宁城际共同组成沪宁综合城际通道,为长三角核心区城际网的组成;是实现沿线中小城市与南京都市圈、苏锡常都市圈、上海都市圈1 h内直达的快捷通道;是沪汉蓉铁路通道的组成部分,与京沪高速沪宁段共同承担沪汉蓉通道旅客运输;是一条以沿线城际客运为主,兼顾部分对外中长途客运的城际线。

Planning and construction of the inter-city railway in regions of Jiangsu province along Yangtze river will enable the Shanghai-Nanjing passage to form a ＂ Eight line＂ pattern, it is very important to identify the inter-city railway network functions. Inter-city railway in regions of Jiangsu along Yangtze river has a clear service division in railway-network function with other railways in Shanghai-Nanjing passage. It is the second inter-city railway in Shanghai- Nanjing passage, and the very important component of the inter-city railway nets in the Yangtze river delta region, and is an 1-hours non-stop fast passage to Nanjing metropolitan circle, Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolis circle, Shanghai metropolis circle, and is a section jointing Shanghai-Wuhan-Chongqing passenger transport with the Beijing- Shanghai high-speed railway in Shanghai-Nanjing section. It is mainly served for the inter-city passenger transport, giving priority to the part of long-distance passengers.
