Though Huang Tingjian, who styled himself as ＂Shan＇gn＂, was born later than Wang Anshi and Su Shi, Huang＇s ＂Shan＇gn-styled poems＂ made greater contributions to the formation and establishment of the special features of the poems in the Song Dynasty. When discussing ＂Shan＇gu-styled poems＂, the academic circles usually focus more of their attention on the Jiangxi School of Poetry, emphasizing the pursuit of the principles in writing poems. As a matter of fact, however, Huang paid more at- tention to artistic expressions of the feelings of the subjects. Undoubtedly, the essence of ＂Shan＇gu-styled poems ＂it more devoted to chanting poets＇ feelings than pursuing the principles in composing poems. Therefore, Huang＇s poems formed distinct literators＇ chanting purports. As a result, a study of Huang＇s poetics of poets＇ chanting feelings and composing poems under its guidance is of great significance to a further understanding and revelation of Huang＇s pursuit of poems creation.
