英汉委婉语语法构成手段对比研究

A comparative study on grammatical construction methods of English and Chinese euphemisms

英汉委婉语都有否定、人称代词、省略等相同的语法构成手段;英语特定的语法形式如时态、语态、语气等经常用来表达委婉,汉语则在用词及词序等方面具有更多的委婉表达功能。本文通过对比的方法,研究英汉委婉语在语法构成手段上的相同点及不同点。

Both English and Chinese euphemisms have the same grammatical construction methods of nega- tion,personal pronoun and ellipsis. The specific grammatical forms like tense, voice and mood in English are often used to express the euphemism, while Chinese has more euphemistic functions in diction and word order. This paper aims to probe into the similarities and differences of grammatical construction methods between English and Chinese euphemisms through comparative study.
