Harmonious culture is a mode of social culture dominated by harmonious value and harmonious spirit. The construction of harmonious culture, which is the development and strengthening of the socialist core value system and dorminant ideology, possesses a proaetive significance for reducing ideological conflicts and increasing social recognition. The media organization, which is a social institution specially engaged in mass communication activities to satisfy social needs, is an important promoting force in the construction of harmonious culture. This article discusses the media＇ s responsibility and character in the context of the construction of harmonious culture, proposing some corresponding practical measures to enhance the social character of the media such that the media is able to play a greater role in promoting the construction of harmonious culture and building socialist harmonious society.
