改革开放以来,我国社会阶层状况发生了很大变化,同时在社会阶层结构方面也出现了许多问题,具体表现为:贫富差距迅速拉大,底层民众过多而中间阶层薄弱,阶层流动受阻,阶层复制功能明显等。合理的阶层结构是社会稳定与国家长治久安的根本保证,如何重塑合理的阶层结构,是关乎我国改革能否顺利推进,广大人民群众能否公平享受改革成果的大问题。
