＂Desert＂ is a masterpiece of Le Clezio. Under the background of brutal geographical environment in the desert, the author compared the barren desolate of African deserts and the darkness and evil of western cities, and connected the struggle that Africa people against colonialism and the resisting of hero Lala against the darkness of western society. The story was built up by the struggle of two generations of the desert people.
