The fire safety design problems of large gymnasiums,such as fire compartmentation,occupant evacuation,smoke extraction system,steel structure fireproofing,fire detection and automatic suppression system,were systematically discussed.Fire engineering methods were used to solve these problems.Taking a gymnasium as an example,the methods were applied to design a customized solution for problems from the fire safety design.
