Taking the successful first stage upgrade of No.3 ash handling unit’s PLC system in Yangcheng International Power Generation Co., LTD as an example, this paper expounds the reasons of the PLC upgrade of No.5 and No.6 boilers in No.3 ash handling unit, introduces the components of old and new PLC systems, and compares the advantages and disadvantages of PLC system’s hardware components before and after the upgrade.
