The Chinese Economic Uprise:Opportunities and Challenges for ASEAN

东盟与中国经济互补性较强,经贸合作潜力巨大,在出口市场以及吸引FDI方面也存在一定的竞争。中国-东盟自由贸易区的建立,将使东盟和中国分享经济一体化的好处,实现经济上的双赢,同时也将推动整个东南亚的区域合作,促进亚洲乃至世界的经济发展和社会进步。

This paper analyzes the opportunities and challenges of the Chinese economic rise for ASEAN.There is much potential for economic corporation between China and ASEAN because two economic bodies have complementary relationship.Meanwhile,China and most ASEAN members have comparative advantages in labor intensive sectors and follow export-led growth policy,so competition also exists in export markets and FDI inflow.After the foundation of China-ASEAN FTA,China and ASEAN will enjoy great interest of economic integration,and achieve win-win economically.
