The semantics of scalar implicature and its interpretation in episodic logic

摘要 本文的研究对象是级差含义的语义属性,即剥离语境的级差含义。本文的研究工具是事况逻辑——一种自然语言处理的逻辑系统。用事况逻辑中命题与事况的关系以及事况间的隶属关系阐释级差含义,不仅从句子外部赋予级差含义更深刻的逻辑内涵,而且发掘了两种在传统研究中不被重视的级差含义——基于时态的级差含义和话语级别上的级差含义。 This paper presents a study of semantics of scalar implicature,i.e.,the context-stripped scalar implicature,in the framework of episodic logic,a powerful logic for natural language processing.Drawing on the relations between propositions and episodes and the part-of relations between episodes in episodic logic,scalar implicature is examined beyond the level of sentence.Furthermore,two less noticed scalar implicatures,i.e.,tense-based scalar implicature and discourse-level scalar implicature,also are dealt with.
