摘要
本文对二语习得涌现论与先天论之辩进行述评。涌现论者并不都否认先天语言能力,但都否认存在先天的语法原则,认为语言知识应由非语言的因素及其互动来解释。先天论认为许多语法现象的习得只有借助先天的普遍语法才能解释。争论的焦点集中在第二语言学习者的语言知识在多大程度上是先天的。
The paper reviews the debate between emergentism and nativism in Second Language Acquisition(SLA).Not all emergentists deny innate endowment for language but they uniformly reject inborn grammatical principles(Universal Grammar).They assume that linguistic knowledge derives from the interaction of non-linguistic factors.Nativists hold that it is impossible to eliminate the role of innate linguistic knowledge in SLA.The debate centers on the issue of how much linguistic knowledge is innate.
