摘要
《孤独旅者》是一部包含着凯鲁亚克个人经历和文化记忆的自传体小说。凯鲁亚克采取结合日记与个人经历的新颖的文学体裁,成功地描绘了一种多元文化的语境,旨在阐释垮掉派追求另类文化的原因并澄清批评界对他作为"反文化"作家代表的误解。本文通过分析文本中的多元文化因素以及凯鲁亚克的文化立场,细致地探讨作品中的文化记忆,并认为凯鲁亚克把自传创作成为一部"小说",将自己视为一名传统文学的追随者,而不是反文化运动的代表人物。
Lonesome Traveler is an autobiographical fiction in which Kerouac encompasses his personal experiences and cultural memories.Kerouac depicts successfully a multicultural context by means of a literary genre that combines his journals and personal experiences for the purpose of illuminating explicitly the reason why the writers of The Beat generation pursue an alternative culture and clarifying the misunderstanding over his identity as a symbol of counterculture writers.This paper,by analyzing the multicultural elements in the text as well as Kerouac's cultural stance,explores in details his cultural memories as revealed in the text.The study contends that Kerouac construes himself as a traditional literary follower rather than a representative of the countercultural movement by creating the work into an autobiography as fiction.
