In Taiwan, the marginal voice of aboriginal writers was first heard in the 1980s.The early period of this cultural expression was similar to that of Han writers in that the voice of "Men"dominates the scene. It was not until the 1990s when we began to hear the voice of Taiwan aboriginal female writers. This study focuses on works about tribal folk tradition of four female writers, namely Liglave A-wu,Dadelavan Ibau,Rimui Aki,and Paiz Makgnana, probes into the role of traditional customs in tribal women's pursuit of self-existence,and reveals the disintegrating and estranging tradition confronting the aboriginals in Taiwan.
