The United States has a long history of war novels, which have unique characteristics and special status in American literary history. In different historical periods and by the use of diversified approaches, American novelists reflect on American wars, which actually play the role of constructing or deconstructing American Idea--the core values of the United States, and conveys novelists＇ three different attitude s towards wars.
