摘要 将美国当代主流小说名家安·比蒂的小说《刻画维尔》置于后现代消费社会的文化语境下进行解读。通过分析文本中的具体实例,说明在后现代工业高度繁荣、物质充盈的消费社会中,当代人的精神世界表现出三个共同特征:冰冷无情、隔绝疏离、浅薄轻率。而这一主题不仅具有深刻的现实意义,也体现了以安·比蒂为代表的美国简约派新现实主义小说的本质特征。 This article seeks to provide a careful study on the themes of An Beattie＇s novel Picturing Will. Based on the logical analysis and plenty of illustrations, the article concludes that one of the major themes of Picturing Will is the spiritual morass of contemporary people.
