Translation is deeply influenced by the historical and cultural context in which it occurs.The historical and cultural context influences the whole process of translation.Firstly,it influences deeply the selection of translation materials;secondly,it influences deeply the choice of translation strategies.This paper,considering the selection of translation materials and the choice of translation strategies of the literary translation of modern and contemporary China,probes into the influence of historical and cultural context upon translation.
