Horizontal tail icing has major impact on flight safety.This paper analyzes the weather condition of aircraft icing,the impacts of horizontal tail icing and flap extension on horizontal tail aerodynamic characteristics,and the recovery method and precaution of horizontal tail icing stall through two flight accidents in a row of the Y-8 aircraft caused by the horizontal tail icing.
