The Rediscovery of Information Society: An Answer from Actor Network Theory

在技术决定论或是社会建构论的视角下,对于信息社会的阐释势必都是通过"黑箱化"技术或是社会的一端而实现,但却又造成了身份和功能的被区隔化与信息社会所标榜的统一化整体之间的矛盾。本文认为,平等地对待人和非人的行动者是消除"技术-社会"二分,也是变"反常"为"正常"的最有效方式。进而,农民"使用"手机的案例佐证了分析视角的有效性。

The interpretation of information society is usually done by ＂black-boxed＂ technology or society side,if a technological determinism or social constructionism perspective is taken.There could cause a great conflict between the reality of fragmentation of human identity or artifact function and the promise of integration in the information society.This paper accordingly announces that the only way to walk out the dilemma of ＂technology society＂ dichotomy is to bring the non-human actor back by introducing the Actor Network Theory（ANT）,which could also turn the ＂abnormal＂ to ＂normal＂ effectively.The using of cellphone by migrant workers can be a proof for the effectiveness of the case study in this new perspective as well.
