时间维度的意象图式在英汉语中的差异

Image Schema Difference of Time Dimension in English and Chinese

根据认知语言学与心理学交叉地带中的认知心理语言学,引出意象图式的重要概念,指出英汉语人群在心理上对时间概念的意象图式存在显著差异:英语使用者心理上始终体现出横向、且唯一指向未来的时间维度特征,且"向右即向未来"。汉语使用者的时间则有横向和纵向两种心理意象图式:横向意象中"前"既可表示时间的未来,也可表示过去;而纵向上则普遍接受"以下为未来"的准则。

Starting from cognitive linguistics and its cross-zone with psychology,the present paper probes into an important concept,i.e.,image schema.English and Chinese reflect remarkably different image schemas on time dimension： Englishmen generally accept the horizontal time dimension in their psychological image schema,and take right as the future;while Chinese have both horizontal and vertical time dimension in our psychological image schema： on the horizontal time dimension,we accept either direction of left or right as future;on the vertical dimension,we generally take downward as future.
