特殊用途英语随着社会经济的快速发展日趋重要,作用突显。因特殊用途英语是为具体专业学科服务,故其教学方法有别于普通英语教学,并要求学习者之前应具较高的普通英语水平。如何提高特殊用途英语的教学质量成为关注热点。本文以护理专业英语为例,通过介绍护理专业英语的特点,探讨适合护理专业英语教学的方法和策略,以提高护理专业英语的教学质量。

English for Specific Purposes （ESP） plays more and more important roles with the rapid development of society and economy. Since it serves specific subjects, ESP has different teaching methods from General English （GE） , and ESP learners sbonld have a good command of GE. So how to improve ESP instruction becomes a main concern. This paper takes English in Nursing as an example, and by introducing its characteristics and discussing its teaching methods or instruction strategies, aims at improving the teaching quality of English in nursing program.
