摘要
通过对安徽省主要城市公示语英译现状的实地调查,收集到第一手双语公示语语料,对存在的问题进行分类并加以分析。同时,以彼特.纽马克的交际翻译理论为框架,在对所收集的数据进行文本分析的基础上,探讨公示语英译可以遵循的具体准则,分析问题产生原因并提出解决对策。
This paper presents a field study of the English translation of public signs in Anhui cities. The firsthand bilingual data of public signs is collected and the errors found therein are classified and analyzed. Based on Peter Newmark＇s communicative translation theory, the textual analysis of the data collected is conducted, and the basic rules that the translation in this field should abide are discussed. The causes of the errors are also analyzed and some corresponding measures are put forward.
