宋代翰林学士与契丹(辽)及金的交聘

The Exchanges and Cooperation Between the Members of the Imperial Academy in the Song Dynasty and Qidan and Jin

两宋时期,都有翰林学士出使过契丹(辽)及金国。不过,这一现象并不普遍。两宋翰林学士的出使,似乎并无一特设的前提,担负重要使命的专使与履行一般使命的常使均可由翰林学士担任。翰林学士担任外交接待工作,任馆伴使的相对较多。无论是出使,还是接待来使,熟悉外交礼仪、学识渊博的翰林学士正是合适的人选。

In the Song Dynasty, members of the Imperial Academy have been sent to Qidan or Jin on a diplomatic mission. However, this phenomenon is not widespread. No matter important mission or general mission, members of the Imperial Academy can hold the post of either special envoy or the ordinary mission. In diplomatic reception, they often act as receptionist. Whether they are sent to other countries or receiving foreign envoy, they are the appropriate people.
