19th century is the silver age for the development of western novel style. This paper mainly focuses on the discussion of the changes and characteristics of novel style under the cultural background of 19th century; it probes into the historic narrative mode, lyrical narrative mode and realistic narrative mode. This paper also goes behind the novel style of historical novels, romance novels and realistic novels.
