一种基于自适应模板的运动估计算法

摘要 在对H.264参考模型JM10.2中采用的非对称十字多重六边形网格搜索(UMHexagonS)运动估计算法进行详尽分析的基础上,提出了针对非对称动态十字搜索、5×5模板搜索和非均匀多层次六边形格点搜索模式三方面的改进措施来优化算法。该自适应模板运动估计算法可显著减少运动估计所需搜索点数,实验表明,本文算法可在图像质量和码率基本不变的前提下平均可节省30%运动估计时间。 IUnsymmetrical-Cross Multi-Hexagon-Grid Search(UMHexagonS) is the motion estimation algorithm used in H.264 reference model JM10.2. In this paper, based on carefully analyzing of UMHexagonS, three important methods: non-symmetrical cross search, 5x5 templates search and non-uniform multi-level hexagonal grid search mode, is optimized to improve the speed of this algorithm. In theory, the new adaptive template motion estimation algorithm can significantly reduce the number of search points which required by motion estimation, thus can greatly speed up motion estimation algorithm without reducing the accuracy. Experimental results shows, compared to original algorithm, the adaptive template algorithm can saving average 30% video coding time without compromising image quality or changing the bitrates.
