《道德经》从18世纪开始日渐广泛地影响国际社会,其译本在国外的文本旅行,逐步融入世界文化观念、日常生活和国际交往中,在相当大程度上展现了中国的文化软实力。从《道德经》的翻译史来看,从传教士翻译为主到中国知识界的广泛参与,体现了中国文化软实力的沉浮历程;从翻译策略的适应性追求来看,归化策略是《道德经》深化到西方思想的一种有效途径;从翻译传播的社会效应来看,外国学者、普通民众以及中国人日益增强的《道德经》思想认同,彰显了该经之翻译对中国和世界的重要意义。

Since the 18th century, Too Te Ching has affected international society. Its translation has traveled abroad, gradually integrating into the world culture, daily life and international communication, and reflected the soft power of China＇s culture to some extent. From the translation history of Tao Te Ching , it was first translated by churchmen, and then by Chinese scholars, which shows the change of China＇s cultural soft power; from the perspective of translation strategy adaptability, domesticating strategy is an effective method to embed Tao Te Ching into western thought; from the perspective of social effect of translation communication, more and more foreign scholars and ordinary people and the Chinese identify the value of Tao Te Ching , which demonstrates the significance of its translation for China and the world as well.
