The effectiveness of international environmental regimes is a main research area which scholars of international relations and international laws have been concerned for. The effectiveness of international environmental regimes means whether the regime solves or eases the targeted environmental problems, or whether relevant behavior bodies induce some changes positive to environment. The factors affecting the effectiveness include problem attributes, regime attributes, and the international environment related to regimes. The study on the effectiveness of international environmental regimes can shed light on future designs of more effective international environmental regimes.
