从功能翻译理论视角看2011年《政府工作报告》英译

ON C-E TRANSLATION OF THE 2011 GOVERNMENT WORK REPORT FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF FUNCTIONALISM

政府工作报告是一种特殊的文体,兼有口头语和书面语的双重特征,其翻译实属政论文体翻译。目前,国内学者对于政论文的翻译研究较少,对政府工作报告的翻译研究更少,且主要集中在针对某一政府工作报告中的某一具体的翻译进行评价,提出此类翻译应尽量避免"机械化"和"中式化",从而提出某一具体翻译策略,而没有提出其相应的翻译理论。文章从词汇和句式的不同角度分析政府工作报告的文体特征和语言特点,从功能翻译理论的视角审视2011年《政府工作报告》的英译,旨在为政府工作报告的英译提出合理的理论指导,找到较为理想的翻译原则和翻译策略,提高翻译的质量,促进国际更好交流。

Government Work Report is a particular type of text with both oral and written linguistic characteristics,having the special features of political texts.Recently scholars at home have comparatively less researches in this line.Among the limited articles available,it is noted that there is an absence of theoretical basis,which mainly analyze some typical translation problems such as Mechanization and Chinese Translation and then put forward some cooresponding strategies of translation.This paper intends to analyze the English translation of the 2011 Government Work Report from the perspective of functionalism with the analysis of its stylistic word and sentence features and to put forward some theoretical guidence in the translation of Government Work Report and some ideal translation principle and strategies to improve its translation level and to promote better exchange.
