According to the two reports of " Dirty Laundary' from Greenpeace, the detected toxic and hazardous substances in effluents discharged by Youngor Textile Complex in Ningbo and Well Dyeing Factory Limited in Zhongshan, as well as the NPEO residue in clothing items bearing the labels of 15 international brands are analyzed. Legislation and professional standards in safe use of chemicals in textiles and clothes issued by developed countries and China are introduced. It is pointed out that the concentrations of the toxic and hazardous substances in effluents discharged by the two Chinese representative companies are much lower and actually reach the international advanced level. All governments, enterprises and society should take their responsibility to supervise the whole industrial chains and form an integrated response linkage mechanism is the only way to resolve the world environmental problems.
