摘要
所谓“新兴病毒感染性疾病”一词源于emergingviral infectious diseases（EIDs）的中文翻译，前一段时间也曾译作“新发病毒感染性疾病”。但是，我以为译作“新兴”为妥，理由是该词所指有二：一是指已知病毒（旧病毒）有了新的感染宿主，播散到新的地域，及其发病机制有了改变，这种情况居大多数；二是指一种以往从未认识过的病毒（新病毒）所致的疾病。据统计，迄今为止造成人类感染性疾病的病原生物多达1415种，其中175种属于新兴病原生物范畴。
