Ajia, who has devoted his whole life to stage practices of traditional operas and exploration of drama theories, accumulated a vast experience on direction and performance, especially the experience on drama direction, which is still inspirational for drama directors today. Ajia＇ s experiences and theories tell us： A drama director who is capable of transmitting national culture is someone who must have understood and grasped the laws of traditional operas, who must take on himself to develop traditional operas and to inherit and brighten the national culture, who must have acquired a comprehensive knowledge of traditional culture and history and have his own opinions about art, who must have the selfconsciousness to give priority to character creation in drama, and who must have the ability to think according to the traditional operas＇ histrionic formula.
