The great expansion of commodity economy in rural markets and its leading role in Dong ethnic communities in recent years have contributed to the vanishes of the skills. This study takes as a case study Pingdi Village of Liping County, a typical village with the decline of handmade weaving skills, focusing on the current use of the skills and the views of the villagers, and reflecting the dilemma of the heritage. The research is to offer an indepth view for the outsiders, promoting the understanding and communication among the skill owners, the government, enterprises and academia.
