This paper explains the connotation and function of core values, putting forward the core values for archivists rooted in social and national culture, Meanwhile, it also emphasizes the accordance of core values and personal values of archivists, pointing out that our current values advocated by archivists should include the noble thought of being loyal to the party and serving the people ;the sacred mission of guarding history and inheriting civilization ; the lofty sentiments of remaining in obscurity and selflessservice and the rigorous and meticulous, tenacious style of hard struggle. Archivists＇s core values should be refined in the actual work and widely disseminated to promote sound and rapid development of archival undertaking.
