摘要
网络仿真是通信网络性能评估的重要手段,NS-2是一种被广泛应用的开源网络性能仿真器。随机数产生器在NS-2中至关重要,但广泛的研究人员并未注意如何正确使用,使仿真结果受到质疑。该文描述了随机数产生器的结构与工作原理,论述并仿真了如何利用随机数产生器进行重复独立仿真实验,产生仿真过程中使用的节点位置和数据流起止时间,最后给出了正确的随机数产生器使用方法。结果为研究人员正确使用随机数产生器提供了解决方案。
Network simulation plays an important role in the evaluation of communication network's performance, and NS-2 is one of the most widely used open-source network simulator. Random number generator (RNG) is a crucial part of NS-2, however, most of relevant researchers do not pay attention to the proper use of RNG which brings unreliability to the simulation results. The structure and working principle of the RNG were described, and how to utilize RNG to carry out repeated independent experiments and establish the simulation environment was discussed, such as node's initial position and the data flow's starting and ending time, and the right way to use RNG was put forward. The results provide the relevant researchers with the correct use of RNG.
