试论唐代河北胡化的渊源及发展

河北道自唐代玄宗后胡化是陈寅恪先生在《唐代政治史述论稿》中提出的一个重要观点。此说虽为河北胡化的经典理论,不过陈寅恪先生及后来的学者大都着眼于唐朝中叶以降讨论河北因何突然胡化的问题,而中国自古就有"用夏变夷者,未闻变于夷者"的观念,所以作为传统汉人文化区的河北要被胡族"胡化"绝非朝夕之间可以完成的,这种文化上的改变需要一段时间较长的历史演变过程,才能达到移风易俗的效果。所以,探讨河北胡化首先要追溯其历史渊源,继而梳理河北胡化的渐进过程。
