《梦歌》是约翰·贝里曼的代表作，在现代西方诗坛影响巨大，现今对约翰·贝里曼的研究大多是从主题来对其进行研究。本文试图用叙事学的观点来对《梦歌》进行解读，通过分析这些独特风格的叙述手法，再以梦的形式，诗人很巧妙地将自我意识与亨利的经历融合在一起，再现了亨利这个人物的多面孔形象，塑造了一个美国白人的神话。
The Dream Songs, John Berryman＇s masterpiece, has a great significance in modern poetry. Most studies are focused on its themes. This paper is aimed to read The Dream Songs from the perspective of narratology ： through these unique narrative styles and in the form of dream, Berryman skillfully melts self-consciousness with Henry＇s experience, shows the multi-faceted Henry and shapes the myth of an American middle-aged white.
