This article describes the trend of the market demand and design philosophy of the handy-size multipurpose vessel. This new concept of 30 000 DWT class multi-purpose vessel has been nominated as ＂Super-flex＂ type and has brought total 22 vessels in 4 Chinese yards with the intent of further orders from various shipping companies.
