胡适与傅斯年

On Mr. HU Shi and Mr. FU Si-nian

胡适与傅斯年一生既是师生,又是朋友的关系。在他们交往中,傅斯年始终都愿为胡适效力,但也只有他敢直面批评胡适。在学术方面,他们在上世纪二三十年代都取得了显著的成就;但在行政办事方面,胡适却远不如傅斯年。他们都不愿参加国民党政府,愿在政府外做"诤友",但最终都黯然离开大陆。

The relationship between Mr.HU Shi and Mr.FU Si-nian is special： they are teacher and student,and friends as well.In their intimate association,Mr.FU would always render a service to Mr.HU,but it was only he who dared to criticize HU to his face.In academic study,they both made remarkable achievements in the 1920’s---1930’s while in administrative aspect,HU was not as good as FU.They had a similarity---unwilling to work for Kuomintang government but willing to give forthright admonition to the government outside.Nevertheless,they both had to leave mainland for Taiwan in the end.
