明清时期的徐州是运河流经的重要地区,运河漕运在促进徐州商品经济发展的同时,也对当地民众的民间信仰和社会风俗产生极大冲击。繁忙的漕运和频繁的河工导致徐州水利信仰和水神崇拜的盛行;大量外地经商人口的涌入,也使得徐州民间社会风俗中的商业色彩日益浓厚。运河漕运使明清时期徐州地方民众的思想观念发生了深刻变革。

Xuzhou is an important area which the canal ran through in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The canal water transport not only promoted the development of commercial economic of Xuzhou,but also had a great impact on the local people＇s folk belief and social custom.Busy water transport and frequent river engineering caused the prevalence of the Water faith and worship God in Xuzhou.Large influx of business people elsewhere brought increasingly strong business tint to the civil social custom of Xuzhou.The water transport of canal made the ideology and concepts of the local people in Xuzhou during the Ming and Qing Dynasties greatly changed.
